24th to the 30th June is Child Safety week, Here at Buttercup Lane we have the ideas booklet and we will be making this week a complete fun filled weeek we have lots of activities planned already and we will be having a totally amazing time.

We will be having a SUPER HERO DAY were we all need to be dressed as your favourite action heros – so getting planning now.

Child Safety week at Buttercup Lane Childminders in East Ardsley

We have had a fantastic April and here at Buttercup Lane Childminders we welcome “Baby Raine” to our extended child care family.

We are getting quite a lot of interest for September so please if your thinking about using a childminder in East Ardsley make that call sooner rather than later as contracts and numbers are filling up fast. Even if we at Buttercup Lane Childminders cant accommodate you we have links in the community that will be able to help. So please make that call today.

We are also broadening our pick up and drop off services this september to include BlackGates Primary school… contracts permitting so watch this space for further details.

Spring looks as though it has finally arrived and we have been able to visit lots of places of interest already. Nostell Priory, Hemsworth Water Park, Holmfirth, Halifax, Leeds Observation Wheel (OWL) as well as the East Coast of Yorkshire.

We have also now started to offer 24 hour / 7 days a week childcare. Please enquire early.

Don’t forget that your clocks go forward tonight for British summer times- today we have had rain sleet snow and sunshine but we are now in BST it’s totally crazy but it true . . . Clocks go forward On my way! Hour

We have a full house today and we are doing loads of Easter related activities, all Creative Development and expressive arts and design.

As you all have been good boys and girls since Christmas – We are all going on a Easter Egg hunt later this afternoon as the Easter Bunny has all ready been to Buttercup Lane Childminders – he has spoken to Mr Tumbles assistant and told him that there are 99 Easter eggs hidden about, can we follow the fairy rabbit dust to locate all the eggs.

Manston Park in Leeds

Nice day in Leeds at Manston Park

JUst been to Manston Park with Tamzin and Aaron, it was very cold but we all wrapped up really well, The kids had lots of fun on the swings and roundabouts and they really enjoyed themselves to say it started snowing again. See the usual for all the pictures.

We had a fantastic day out today at Temple Newsam Park, The Weather was beautiful for February and there were loads of people there enjoying the facilities.

Along with the long walk, we went Tree Root Climbing, Duck and Swan Spotting, We played Find the Penguin and Pig and this kept them entertained for hours until Karl let on just exactly where the penguin was. The swings and fire mans pole slide was every bodys favourite and we all had a very good time.

We have been to see Mr Copley again, this has got to be one of the best attractions in Yorkshire and its right on our doorstep. If you have a few hours to spare and your kids are bored you need to go and visit Mr Copley. We had loads of fun with the pumpkins and corn shotting, the farm shop is excellent and you will be amazed with the selection of goods on offer. We have just completed a training course for the Revised Early Years Foundation Stage 2012. More details to follow ….

We attended a training course yesterday that was Early Years Fun Stuff linked directly to revised EYFS. We have lots of fresh and exciting ideas for fun activities that all fall into the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. We are going to introduce some of the activities into June’s activity plan and we will see how successful there are. Ask us about the new Birthday Boxes a great idea for all the children to get involved in birthday celebrations, Mini-me pegs, Book of the week & 3 item story time.

School Holiday activities at Half Term – Thursday the 16 Feb we all enjoyed an outing to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. There are over 60 Sculptures there all across the landscape and we walked for miles.
We did not get to spend a lot of time on one of the five indoor gallaries but we all had a fantastic time. The weather was cold but dry and we all wrapped up warm. A full report and pictures to come.
